250g | dates |
2 | tbsp coconut oill |
Handful of cashews | |
Handful of almonds | |
Handful of desiccated coconut | |
Pinch of cinnamon (optional) | |
Pinch of cardamom (optional) |
THIS IS MY MUM’S 20 YEAR OLD RECIPE, HER FAVOURITE SPEEDY SWEET TREAT, MADE EVERY SUNDAY (HENCE THE ROUGH MEASUREMENTS, INDIAN MUM STYLE)
METHOD
- Melt the coconut oil in a saucepan
- Add dates and stir on low-medium heat until softened (they’ll smell delicious at this stage) ~ 2-3 minutes
- Add in all nuts and stir for 2-3 minutes
- Turn off heat and add in desiccated coconut and additional spices of choice
- Roll into ball with your hands and ensure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed
- Split into 3 balls and shape into Toblerone blocks
- Leave in fridge to set for 1 hour
- Slice into toblerone triangles and consume immediately *You can also add in a couple of tablespoons for cacao powder which is delicious
